Painting Your Door to Sell

What Color Do I Paint My Front Door?

One of the easiest ways to switch up the look of your home is painting the front door. But, the hardest part of this change is choosing a color. Wondering which front door colors are trending right now or which shade will most likely attract a buyer?

Here are some ideas that will help give your home curb appeal and create a whole new vibe.

Natural Wood Stain

Natural wood stain is a look that is timeless. Stained wood entry doors let the natural beauty of wood shine through. Depending on the aesthetic you are going for, a natural wood entry door can complement a wide variety of styles including rustic, traditional and modern homes. Most Knoxville homes tend to have a natural wood door. Most exteriors pair well with wood and this is the most classic choice for your entry.

Pink

Whether it’s fuchsia, magenta or a bright bubblegum, painting your front door pink is a great way to show some personality through your curb appeal. If you want your home to stand out, a pink door is a perfect way to do it. What type of Knoxville homes would look best with a pink door? Normally cottage style homes, mid century homes or bungalows. This type of archetecture lends itself to having a playful color as the front man. Avoid pink if the home has red tones as these two shades will clash.

Blue

Blue front doors are another color you don’t see as often, but a color that I love. The trick to making a blue door fit your home is making sure you consider the exterior of your home when picking the right shade. But in my opinion, you can never go wrong with a blue front door. Plus, according to Zillow, homes with blue doors tend to sell faster and for top dollar. Blues I love are Benjamin Moore Hale Navy or Newburyport Blue and Blueprint Blue by Behr for a brighter shade.

After all, your front door is the first thing that people see when they visit your home. You can make your door stand out or blend in with these colors depending on your vision for your home!
